Longues sont les minutes avant une interview téléphonique. Il faut adopter un air décontracté mais pas trop, prendre soin d'appeler à 16h01 et non 16h zéro-zéro. Mais quand la photographe Adeline Rapon m'appelle, son énergie est... douce. Une douceur qu'on retrouve dans ses photos, ses portraits desquels l'attention porté à ses sujets dégouline, dans la façon qu'elle a de représenter le corps des autres comme le sien. Voici, sans faire de manières, les oeuvres qui ont marqué sa vie et son regard de photographe. – Mélissa Chidiac

The minutes before a telephone interview are long. You have to sound casual, but not too casual, make sure you call at 4:01 instead of 4:00. But when the photographer Adeline Rapon calls me, her energy is... soft. A sweetness that is reflected in her work, in her portraits where her attention to her subjects is dripping, in the way she represents the bodies of others as well as her own. Here are, without making a fuss, the creations that have marked her life and her vision as a photographer. —Mélissa Chidiac
"LP1" FKA TWIGS (2014)
Découvrir FKA Twigs a été un choc émotionnel. Elle vous donne envie de vous battre. Comme dans la chanson Two Weeks, où elle se bat pour un homme déjà pris avec sa voix aussi aiguë que puissante.
Discovering FKA Twigs was an emotional shock. She makes you want to fight. Like in the song Two Weeks, where she fights for a man who is already taken with her high-pitched, but extremely powerful, voice.
"BABY SITTER", MONIA CHOKRI (2022)
C’est l’histoire d’une femme en plein post partum et de son mari, animateur télé, qui se retrouve au coeur d’un bad buzz suite à une agression sexuelle en direct. Le couple engage une baby sitter assez particulière. Il y a des jeux de regards fascinants qui reprennent les codes de films d’horreur italiens un peu érotiques, le tout réutilisé dans une comédie, et c’est excellent !
It’s the story of a woman in the middle of a postpartum and her husband, a TV host, who finds himself in the middle of a bad buzz following a live sexual assault. They hire a pretty special baby sitter. There are fascinating gaze games that take up the codes of erotic Italian horror movies, all reused in a comedy, and it’s excellent!
"KILLING EVE", PHOEBE WALLER-BRIDGE (2018)
Si Eve a envie d’un mec, elle va le voir directement. Des comportements qu'on voit peu à l'écran, et qui me paraissent normaux, ni surjoués ni faux, tout comme les sujets de conversation, les tenues… Une série qui permet une déconstruction salvatrice des personnages féminins de fiction auxquels on nous a habitué·es.
If Eve wants a guy, she goes straight to him. Behaviors that are rarely seen on screen, and that seem normal to me, neither overacted nor false, just like the topics of conversation, the outfits... A series that allows for a precious deconstruction of our usual fictional female characters.
