A propos de l’artiste : Elena Helfrecht est une artiste visuelle allemande, basée en Bavière. Son travail photographique s’intéresse aux conflits intimes avec un goût pour le surréel, le fantastique et parfois le grotesque. Cette image est publiée dans le premier numéro de Gaze. Elle illustre un texte de l’autrice et réalisatrice Ovidie, sur la puissance et le danger d’utiliser la première personne, quand on est une femme.

About the artist : Elena Helfrecht is a German visual artist, based in Bavaria. Her photographic work explores inner conflicts with a taste for the surreal, the fantastic, and at times the grotesque. This picture is published in the first issue of Gaze. It illustrates an essay by French author and director Ovidie, about the power and danger of using the pronoun “I”, when you’re a woman.
